Guizotia abyssinica — a new forage crop in crop rotations of the Kaliningrad region

Abstract (English):
During exploratory research, a new forage crop – Guizotia abyssinica (nug) Guizotia abissinica Cass (Asteraceae) was tested. Previous researchers mainly studied the oil properties of guizotia seeds. According to preliminary results of our research, during harvesting for green mass in the budding and flowering period of Abyssinian guizotia Lipchanin variety, the following yields were obtained per 1 ha: dry matter 88–96 c, protein 800–900 kg, crude protein content in dry matter 9–10 %, crude fat content in dry matter up to 31 %.
